On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Alameda County Fathers Corps will host its highly anticipated Fatherhood Summit at the Oakland Marriott, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This free, day-long event—open to fathers, father-figures, families, and community members—promises to be a powerful gathering centered on empowerment, connection, and celebration.
With the theme “Rooted in Fatherhood, Growing in Community,” the summit is designed to uplift and support fathers by recognizing the vital role they play in their children’s lives. Attendees will experience a dynamic lineup of nationally recognized keynote speakers, a career fair, and over 30 workshops tailored to the needs of fathers and father-figures. Topics will range from parenting strategies and mental health to employment resources and navigating public systems.
This event is more than a conference—it’s a movement. It challenges outdated stereotypes about fatherhood and provides a space where men can access tools, resources, and peer support to become the dads they aspire to be. The summit also reflects a growing recognition across California that father engagement is essential to child and family well-being.
At the California Fatherhood Council, we are proud to support and amplify events like the Alameda County Fatherhood Summit. Our mission is to empower fathers, strengthen families, and promote the well-being of children by ensuring that fathers are seen, supported, and celebrated. The summit’s focus on equity, access, and community collaboration aligns perfectly with our statewide goals.
We are especially encouraged by the summit’s inclusive approach. Whether you’re a new dad, a seasoned father, a mentor, or a service provider, the event offers something for everyone. It also brings together leaders from across sectors—health, education, social services, and justice—to build a more father-friendly system of care.
The Alameda County Fathers Corps, the summit’s host, is a model for what local fatherhood initiatives can achieve. Their work—nested within First 5 Alameda County and supported by multiple county agencies—demonstrates the power of cross-agency collaboration in advancing father engagement and family resilience.
As California continues to invest in the well-being of men and boys, including through Governor Newsom’s recent executive order, events like this summit are critical. They provide a blueprint for how communities can come together to support fathers not just as caregivers, but as leaders, role models, and change agents.
We encourage all our partners, allies, and fellow advocates to attend, support, or share this event. Let’s continue building a California where every father has the opportunity—and the support—to thrive.
