The California Fatherhood Council provided input on the development of a California state-based Fatherhood Inclusion Training that is designed to equip professionals with the insights and sensitivity needed to support fathers on their parenting journey.
The goal is simple: foster empathy, strengthen professional practice, and empower fathers to become more engaged and supportive for their children. The training includes five focused sessions:
SESSION 1:
Men vs. Supermen, Stereotypes of Manhood. Understanding how societal narratives impact fathers
SESSION 2:
The Importance of Fathers, Their Roles in a Child’s Life. Exploring fathers’ vital role in child development.
SESSION 3:
Knowing Yourself. Who Am I? Self-reflection on personal perspectives and biases.
SESSION 4:
Laws and Policies Affecting Fathers. Reviewing legal and policy frameworks that affect fatherhood.
SESSION 5:
Father Inclusion. Moving Forward with Best Practices. Providing practical strategies for father engagement.
We are proud to have offered input and support for this important training to continue supporting families with empathy, fairness, and professionalism.
